Each year the students at Nehaunsey participate in a variety of fitness assessments known as Fitnessgram. The students take these assessments three times during the school year: September (benchmark), January (checkpoint), and May (final testing to see if criteria has been met). The students are assessed in three major areas: cardiovascuar endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility. The goal is to achieve a score in the "Health Fitness Zone," which is based on their age and gender. Students receive an assessment grade during Fitness Gram and are graded on effort, not overall performance. To get a better understanding of Fitnessgram, click the link here.
THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS ACHIEVED THE "NEHAUNSEY PHYSICAL FITNESS AWARD" FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR BY TESTING IN THE "HEALTHY FITNESS ZONE" IN ALL MAJOR CATEGORIES: CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE, FLEXIBILITY, AND MUSCULAR STRENGTH. THEIR NAMES ARE RECOGNIZED INSIDE OF THE NEHAUNSEY MIDDLE SCHOOL GYMNASIUM ON THE NEHAUNSEY FITNESS AWARD BULLETIN BOARD.
